Rijnvogels vs SV DVS '33

KATWIJK, Netherlands (Interstat) — Rijnvogels will look to halt a two-match slide Wednesday when they host SV DVS ’33 in a Derde Divisie match at Sportpark de Kooltuin.

The fixture is the first leg of a home-and-home series between the two sides, who will meet again Saturday in Ermelo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.

Rijnvogels (0-3-2 in its last five league matches) enters the midweek clash reeling from a 3-0 loss to VV Sint Bavo on Saturday. The defeat extended an inconsistent stretch for the home side, which has alternated between competitive draws and heavy losses. Rijnvogels’ last win came in a 4-1 victory at Lisse on April 25, but that result was followed by a penalty-shootout loss to VVSB in a cup competition May 12.

The club’s defensive stability has been a concern. Rijnvogels has allowed at least two goals in four of its last five matches across all competitions.

SV DVS ’33 arrives riding a two-match winning streak. The visitors defeated Huizen 1-0 on Saturday behind a disciplined defensive effort. DVS has won three of its last four, including a 3-2 victory at Eemdijk on May 16 and a 2-1 win over Sportlust ’46 on April 25.

DVS has been difficult to beat in recent weeks, but the side has also shown a tendency to concede. In its last nine matches, the club has allowed multiple goals five times. However, DVS has been stout in close contests, with eight of its last nine results decided by a single goal or ending in a draw.

Both clubs sit in the middle of a crowded Derde Divisie table, separated by two points.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Rijnvogels will aim to get a result at home before the return fixture on Saturday, while DVS will look to take momentum on the road as the two sides complete their season series in short order.
