Mixco vs Municipal
MIXCO, Guatemala (Interstat) — Mixco hosts Municipal on Wednesday in a Liga Nacional de Guatemala clash that pits a resurgent home side against a visitor struggling for consistency.
Mixco enters the May 6 matchup having won three of the last four head-to-head meetings, including two 1-0 victories at home. The most recent encounter, March 4, saw Municipal lose 1-0 at Mixco. Prior to that, Mixco won 2-1 at Municipal on Feb. 14, and took a 1-0 home win Nov. 9, 2025.
Both teams are coming off losses. Municipal fell 3-0 at Cobán Imperial on Saturday, extending a season of erratic form. The Rojos have won only four of their last 10 league matches, including a 4-1 win over Aurora and a 3-2 win over Guastatoya, but also losses to Malacateco (twice) and a 3-1 defeat at Xelaju on March 19.
Mixco lost 3-0 at Antigua GFC on Saturday, snapping a run of four matches without a defeat. Prior to that, Mixco drew 2-2 at Mictlan, beat Xelaju 3-1, and drew 2-2 with Comunicaciones. At home, Mixco has been strong, winning three of its last four at the Estadio Santo Domingo.
The Interstat game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Municipal. However, Interstat’s ELO system gives Mixco a 53.60 percent probability of winning, slightly favoring the home side based on recent form and head-to-head history.
