FREIBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Freiburg II hosts Wolfsburg on Sunday in a Bundesliga matchup that, according to Interstat’s game simulator, projects a 1-1 draw.

The match, set for May 3, 2026, comes as both teams struggle for consistency late in the season. Wolfsburg enters the game winless in its last three Bundesliga outings following a scoreless draw with Borussia M’gladbach II on April 25. That result followed consecutive losses: a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on April 11 and a 6-3 thrashing at Bayer Leverkusen on April 4, where Wolfsburg’s defense conceded six goals.

Wolfsburg’s season has been marked by volatility. Since a 4-0 victory at Borussia Dortmund on Feb. 22, the visitors have lost four of five matches, including a 3-0 defeat at Stuttgart on March 1 and a 4-0 loss at home to Mainz — played the same day as the Dortmund triumph. The lone bright spot in that span was a 3-2 win at Freiburg’s first team on March 22, providing a small boost against a club sharing the same region but fielding a different squad.

Freiburg II arrives after a 4-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on April 26 — the same day SC Sand II also beat them 4-0. Those results capped a mixed April that included a 2-1 win over Heidenheim on April 19 and consecutive 1-0 victories against Mainz 05 II and VfL Herrenberg on April 12. However, Freiburg II’s defense has been inconsistent: they’ve allowed three or more goals in four of their last eight matches, including a 3-3 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on March 7 and a 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich on April 4.

The home side’s most encouraging performances include a 2-1 win at Saint Pauli on March 22 and a 3-2 victory over SG Haitz the same day, but they have also dropped matches to Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin by identical 2-0 scores.
