AF Elbasani vs KF Tirana

ELBASAN, Albania (Interstat) — AF Elbasani will look to continue its dominance over city rival KF Tirana when the two sides meet Sunday in an Albanian First Division match at Elbasan Arena.

The home side defeated Tirana 1-0 on March 8 in the most recent head-to-head meeting, a result that extended Elbasani’s unbeaten run against its capital opponent to three matches. In that span, Elbasani has outscored Tirana 6-2, including a 4-1 victory Oct. 29 and a 1-1 draw Dec. 24.

A win Sunday would solidify Elbasani’s position near the top of the table. The team enters the contest following a 2-1 loss at Bylis on Wednesday, a result that snapped a two-match winning streak. Prior to that defeat, Elbasani had posted a 3-1 victory at Vllaznia Shkoder on April 27 and a 4-2 loss at Vora on May 2. Over its last 10 matches, Elbasani has compiled a 6-3-1 record, with its only two defeats coming away from home.

KF Tirana, meanwhile, arrives in Elbasan having won four of its last five matches, including a 1-0 victory at Vllaznia Shkoder on Wednesday. That result followed a 1-0 win at Teuta Durres on May 2 and a 2-1 triumph over Partizani Tirana on April 25. The visitors have shown defensive solidity, conceding just one goal in their past four games, but have struggled to score consistently, managing only one goal in each of those contests.

Tirana’s form this season has been inconsistent. The team has alternated wins and losses in its last eight matches, with three victories, two draws and three defeats. Its most recent loss came at home to Vllaznia Shkoder 3-1 on Feb. 27, and it has not beaten Elbasani since the 2025-26 campaign.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for AF Elbasani, a prediction supported by the home side’s recent head-to-head success and strong form at Elbasan Arena.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time. The match will be the second of three meetings between the clubs this season, with the final fixture yet to be announced.
