CHARENTSVAN, Armenia (April 10, 2026) (Interstat) — Urartu opened its Armenian Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Van on Friday at Charentsavan City Stadium. The visitors defied a pregame projection that favored a draw. Bruno Michel broke the deadlock for Urartu in the 46th minute, and Benik Hovhannisyan added a decisive second goal in the 65th. Van managed a late consolation but could not complete the comeback. The result gives Urartu a winning start to both its league season and overall campaign, while Van begins with a loss in each. Interstat’s pre-match simulator had projected a 1-1 draw, with its ELO system giving Urartu a 56.3% chance to win.
