Budaiya vs Al Hidd
AR-RIFĀ’, Bahrain (Interstat) — Oussama Bellatrèche and Jumai Jallow scored second-half goals to lift Al Hidd to a 2-0 victory over Budaiya in Bahrain Premier League play on Friday at Stād Al Bahrayn Al Watanī.
The match, a fixture in the domestic top flight, was a reversal of the teams’ previous meeting this season. Al Hidd avenged a 2-1 loss at home to Budaiya back on Oct. 31, 2025, with a controlled performance on the road.
After a first half with few clear chances, Al Hidd broke the deadlock in the 56th minute. Bellatrèche found space in the penalty area and connected powerfully with a cross, directing a header past the Budaiya goalkeeper to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Budaiya, playing in front of a home crowd, struggled to mount a consistent attacking response. The home side’s efforts to find an equalizer left them vulnerable at the back as the match entered its final stages. Al Hidd sealed the three points in the 89th minute when Jallow cut inside from the left flank and fired a precise finish to double the advantage and secure the victory.
The result continued contrasting trajectories for the two sides in league competition. Al Hidd improved its Premier League record to eight wins, five losses and three draws, solidifying its position in the upper half of the table. Budaiya’s struggles deepened, as it fell to four wins, nine losses and three draws.
The outcome defied the pre-match projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw. The organization’s ELO rating system had given Al Hidd a 54.40 percent probability to win, a margin the visiting side justified with its performance.
Al Hidd’s form has been inconsistent in recent weeks. The win followed a 1-0 loss at Al Najma on March 13 but preceded a strong run in late January and February that included victories over Sitra, Al Riffa and Al Shabab.
For Budaiya, the defeat extends a difficult period. The team has now lost three of its last four Premier League matches, having been shut out in all three of those losses. Its only positive result in that span was a 3-0 win over Bahrain SC on Feb. 14.
The match was the only fixture scheduled in the Bahrain Premier League for Friday, April 3, 2026.
Al Hidd will look to build on the victory when it hosts Muharraq in its next league match on Thursday, April 16. Budaiya, seeking to halt its slide, faces a challenging trip to Al Najma on the same date.
