Bologna vs Lecce

Bologna, Italy (Interstat) — Bologna and Lecce meet Sunday in a Serie A clash with both sides seeking momentum ahead of a difficult stretch in their schedules.

The match at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time (1300 GMT) on April 12.

Bologna (13-8-10) enters with confidence after a 2-1 road victory over US Cremonese last Sunday. That result halted a minor skid that included losses to Lazio and Cremonese in late March. The Rossoblu have been strong at home lately, losing just once in their last five league matches at the Dall’Ara.

Lecce (9-9-13), however, is reeling from a 3-0 home defeat to Atalanta on Monday. That loss extended a concerning run for the Salentini, who have managed just one win in their last seven Serie A outings. Their form has been inconsistent, mixing a 2-0 win over Cagliari and a 2-1 victory against Udinese with defeats to top-half sides like Inter Milan, Napoli and AS Roma.

The previous meeting this season ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Lecce on Sept. 28, 2025.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Sunday’s contest is projected to end in another 1-1 draw.

The result could be pivotal for both clubs’ season objectives. Bologna will look to solidify its position in the top half before a daunting trip to Juventus on April 19. Lecce, hovering closer to the relegation zone, desperately needs points before hosting Fiorentina on April 20.

Bologna manager Thiago Motta is expected to rely on a disciplined defensive structure that has produced 11 clean sheets this term. Lecce coach Roberto D’Aversa will demand a response from his attack, which has been shut out in three of its last five matches.

The fixture historically favors Bologna, which has lost only once to Lecce at home in their last 12 Serie A meetings dating back to 1997.
