Juve Stabia vs Cesena
CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA, Italy (Interstat) — Defenders Marco Varnier and Lorenzo Carissoni scored second-half goals to power Juve Stabia to a 2-0 victory over Cesena in a Serie B match on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Stadio Comunale Romeo Menti.
The result defied pregame projections from Interstat, whose game simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw and whose ELO system gave Cesena a slight 50.30 percent probability to win. Instead, Juve Stabia delivered a controlled performance to secure three points and improve its league record to nine wins, eight losses and eight draws. Cesena’s struggles continued as it fell to three wins, nine losses and five draws in Serie B play.
After a physical first half that yielded only a yellow card to Juve Stabia substitute Simone Bastoni in the 38th minute, the home side broke through shortly after the interval. Varnier, a central defender, found the net in the 52nd minute to give Juve Stabia the lead. The assist came from Bastoni, who had entered the match as a substitute.
The advantage doubled just 11 minutes later. In the 63rd minute, fellow defender Carissoni scored, with the assist credited to midfielder Omar Correia. Correia would later receive a yellow card in the 67th minute.
Cesena, which has now won just once in its last nine league matches dating back to late December, offered little in response. The visitors managed only a single shot on target throughout the match. Their frustration showed as substitute Dimitri Bisoli was booked in the 55th minute, shortly after Juve Stabia’s opening goal.
The victory completed a league double over Cesena for Juve Stabia this season, following a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture on Dec. 20, 2025. It also marked a positive rebound for the home side, which was coming off a 3-1 loss at Venezia the previous Monday.
For Cesena, the defeat extends a dismal away form. The team has failed to win on the road in Serie B since a 1-0 victory at Modena on Nov. 28, 2025, a stretch covering seven matches.
Juve Stabia will look to build on this result when it hosts Catanzaro in its next Serie B fixture on April 18. Cesena, seeking to halt its slide, faces a difficult trip to Palermo on the same date.
