VILA NOVA DE FAMALICÃO, Portugal (March 6, 2026) (Interstat) — Defender Rodrigo Pinheiro scored in the 82nd minute to give Famalicao a 1-0 victory over Arouca in a Primeira Liga match Friday at Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho.

The match’s lone goal came from a Famalicao counter, with substitute Barbero, who entered in the 51st minute, providing the assist to Pinheiro. Mathias De Amorim was credited with a secondary assist on the play. Both Barbero and De Amorim received yellow cards in the second half.

The result defied pre-match projections, as statistical models had favored Arouca and predicted a draw. With the win, Famalicao begins its league campaign with a victory, while Arouca starts with a loss.
