IRAPUATO, Mexico (Feb. 25, 2026) (Interstat) — Atlante delivered a stunning 5-0 away victory over Irapuato on Wednesday in Liga de Expansión MX play, defying pregame projections at Estadio Sergio León Chávez.

Interstat’s simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw, with Irapuato given a 66.7% win probability. Atlante’s substitutes dismantled that logic, scoring all five second-half goals in a 39-minute barrage.

Luis Puente opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Samuel González and Edgar Jiménez added goals before Hardy Meza scored twice late, including one in stoppage time. Meza’s brace led Atlante, which saw four different substitutes find the net.

The result gives Atlante a winning start to the season across all competitions, while Irapuato begins with a loss.
