MODENA, Italy (Interstat) — Modena delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Spezia in a Serie B match Friday at Stadio Alberto Braglia.

The hosts took control with two goals in a dominant first half. Forward Manuel De Luca opened the scoring in the 29th minute and added a second just before halftime in the 55th. Substitute Ettore Gliozzi sealed the result four minutes later in the 59th.

Spezia, which failed to score, saw its struggles continue. The loss leaves it with a league record of 6-12-6. Modena improved to 11-5-6 in Serie B play. The result defied a pregame statistical projection of a 1-1 draw, though Modena was a heavy favorite.
