CAGLIARI, Italy (Interstat) — Cagliari and Lazio opened their Serie A seasons with a 0-0 draw at Unipol Domus on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, in a match defined by defensive discipline and bookings.

The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Lazio. Both clubs now hold identical records of one draw with no wins or losses in league play this season.

The match saw four yellow cards, with Cagliari’s Yerry Mina receiving a second caution and subsequent red card in the 85th minute, forcing the hosts to finish with 10 men. Lazio substitute Oliver Nielsen provided a key performance after his introduction.
