ERZURUM, Turkiye (Jan. 31, 2026) (Interstat) — Erzurumspor opened its 1. Lig season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Sariyer on Saturday at Kazım Karabekir Stadyumu, defying pre-match projections.

Eren Tozlu opened the scoring just one minute into the match. The home side then sealed the win with three second-half goals from Sefa Akgün in the 65th minute, Brandon Baiye in the 71st and Murat Cem Akpınar in stoppage time. Substitute Hasan Emre Yeşilyurt provided an assist but also received a yellow card.

The result starkly contrasted with pre-game analytics, as Interstat’s simulator had predicted a 1-1 draw and gave Sariyer a 77.1% probability to win. Erzurumspor begins the campaign with a win, while Sariyer starts with a loss.
