ROME (Interstat) — A surging Lazio W looks to continue its climb up the Serie A Women table when it visits struggling Ternana Femminile on Sunday.

The match at Ternana’s home ground kicks off at 2:45 p.m. local time (1345 GMT).

Lazio (6-4-0) enters on a three-match winning streak, most recently a 1-0 home victory over Parma on Dec. 14. Prior to that, it secured road wins at Sassuolo (2-1 on Dec. 8) and Napoli (1-0 on Nov. 9). Its form has been inconsistent against the league’s top tier, however, with recent losses to Inter Milan (2-0) and AS Roma (1-0).

Ternana (1-2-7) seeks to halt a slide, having failed to score in its last three outings. It fell 2-0 at home to AS Roma on Dec. 13 and 1-0 at Fiorentina on Dec. 7, following a 0-0 draw with Parma on Nov. 22. Its lone victory this season was a 1-0 result at Sassuolo on Nov. 15. Defensive struggles have been a theme, including a 5-0 loss to Inter and a 4-3 defeat to Napoli.

The matchup presents a clear contrast. Lazio’s steady, low-scoring efficiency — conceding more than one goal only once this season — will test a Ternana side that has been porous at the back, allowing a league-high 22 goals through 10 matches.

Following this contest, Lazio faces a crucial stretch, hosting Fiorentina on Jan. 24 before February fixtures against Juventus and AC Milan. Ternana’s next scheduled match is at home against Juventus on Feb. 22.
