MANAMA, Bahrain (Interstat) — Al Riffa earned a 3-1 victory over Sitra in a Bahrain Premier League match Wednesday at Madinat ’Isa Stadium.

Samuel Toscas opened the scoring for the visiting side with a header in the 26th minute. Ali Madan doubled Al Riffa’s lead in the 68th, followed swiftly by a Gabryel goal two minutes later. Sitra’s Carlos Vázquez scored a consolation header in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.

The result improves Al Riffa’s league record to nine wins, three draws and two losses. Sitra moves to four wins, four draws and four losses. Al Riffa completed a season sweep, having also defeated Sitra 3-0 in September. The outcome defied a pre-match statistical model that favored the home side.
