VIELSEN, Netherlands (Interstat) — Telstar and Twente opened their Eredivisie seasons with a 1-1 draw Sunday at 711 Stadion, a result that defied heavy odds favoring the visitors.

Twente, projected by Interstat’s ELO system with an 82.6% win probability, took the lead in the 17th minute. Forward Sem van Duijn finished an assist from defender Jochem van de Kamp.

Telstar’s equalizer came late from substitute Marko Pjaca in the 83rd minute, assisted by fellow substitute Thomas van den Belt. Van den Belt and van de Kamp each received yellow cards.

The result leaves both clubs at 0-0-1 in league play to start the 2025-26 campaign.
