Telstar vs Twente
TELSTAR HOSTS TWENTE IN EREDIVISIE CLASH
VELSEN, Netherlands (Interstat) — Twente looks to build on a dominant victory when it visits Telstar in an Eredivisie match on Sunday.
The matchup at Telstar’s stadium pits a surging Twente side against a Telstar team seeking consistency. Twente (10-8-4) is coming off a 5-0 home rout of Heerenveen on Feb. 7, its most convincing win of the campaign. Telstar (3-9-10) earned a 1-1 draw at Go Ahead Eagles on Feb. 8.
The teams played to a scoreless draw in their last meeting on Nov. 7 in Enschede.
Twente’s form has been strong, losing just once in its last 11 league matches (5-1-5). That run includes draws against top sides Ajax and Feyenoord in December. Its attack, quiet at times earlier in the season, erupted for five goals last time out.
Telstar has found points harder to secure, with only one win in its last 10 outings (1-5-4). It has shown resilience, however, with draws in three of its last five matches, including the recent result against Go Ahead Eagles. Defensive lapses have been costly, exemplified by a 4-1 loss at PEC Zwolle on Jan. 31.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Twente is projected to win 2-1.
Following this match, Twente faces a congested schedule, with three games in seven days starting Feb. 22 against Groningen. Telstar’s path remains difficult, with a trip to powerhouse Feyenoord looming on Feb. 22.
Key Matchup: Twente’s potent attack, which scored five goals in its last match, against a Telstar defense that has conceded multiple goals in six of its last ten games.
Player to Watch: Twente’s forwards will be confident after the Heerenveen performance, while Telstar will rely on its home support to spark an upset.
Sunday’s kickoff is set for the standard Eredivisie time. The game will be broadcast locally.
