TRAPANI, Italy (March 8, 2026) (Interstat) — Crotone delivered a decisive 4-1 away victory over Trapani in a Serie C match Sunday, defying pregame projections that heavily favored the hosts.

Playing at Stadio Polisportivo Provinciale, Crotone took control early with Amedeo Benedetti scoring in the 11th minute. Antonino Musso then scored twice, in the 27th and 54th minutes, around a Mattia Sandri goal in the 44th. Trapani’s lone reply came from Antonio Energe in the 59th minute.

The result upended statistical models, which gave Trapani a 68.9% chance to win and projected a 2-1 victory for the home side. Crotone begins its Serie C campaign with a win, while Trapani starts with a loss.
