Correcaminos UAT vs Cancun
Preview: Correcaminos UAT Hosts Cancun in Liga de Expansión MX Clash
CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico (Interstat) — Correcaminos UAT will host Cancun on Friday in a Liga de Expansión MX match, with the visitors looking to replicate a dominant victory from their last meeting.
The matchup at Estadio Marte R. Gómez comes six months after Cancun routed Correcaminos 5-0 on Oct. 25. That lopsided result will be fresh in mind for the home side seeking redemption.
Correcaminos (4-5-3) enters with momentum from a 3-0 home win over Pumas Tabasco on Sunday. That victory snapped a two-game skid for a squad that has shown both promise and inconsistency, including a 4-0 road win at Atlético Morelia and a 3-0 home loss to CA La Paz this season.
Cancun (3-6-3) arrives after a dramatic 3-2 road loss to Leones Negros UdeG last Sunday, conceding a late goal. Its form has been mixed, with a win, two draws and two losses in its last five outings. A 4-1 win over Mineros de Zacatecas in February highlights its attacking potential, but defensive stability has been elusive.
The statistical service Interstat projects a 1-1 draw for Friday’s contest.
Following this match, Correcaminos will travel to face Mineros de Zacatecas on April 12. Cancun’s next fixture is a home game against Celaya on April 10.
Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. local time (10 p.m. EDT).
