PACHUCA, Mexico (March 3, 2026) (Interstat) — Substitute Javier Ruiz scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minute to propel Pachuca to a 2-1 victory over Necaxa in a Liga MX match Tuesday at Estadio Hidalgo.

Alexei Domínguez opened the scoring for the visiting Necaxa in the 14th minute. Pachuca’s Oussama Idrissi equalized in the 33rd before Ruiz, who entered as a substitute, netted the winner after halftime. The match grew contentious late, with six yellow cards issued, including five in second-half stoppage time.

Pachuca began its season with a win, while Necaxa opened with a loss. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had forecast a 1-1 draw.
