Leon vs Necaxa
LEON, Mexico (Interstat) — Two Liga MX sides trending in opposite directions will meet Saturday when struggling Club León hosts a reeling Club Necaxa.
León (1-4-0 in last five league matches) enters the match at Estadio León with modest momentum after a 2-1 home victory over Santos Laguna last Saturday. That win snapped a four-match league losing streak that included defeats to Monterrey, Querétaro and Tigres UANL, where León was outscored 6-1. Their attack has been anemic, failing to score in three of those five matches.
Necaxa’s form is more dire. The visiting Rayos are 0-4-0 in their last four Liga MX contests, having been outscored 8-0. They are coming off a 3-0 home defeat to Toluca last Saturday. Their last league win was a 4-1 victory over Santos Laguna on Oct. 31, 2025. The team has shown a porous defense, conceding multiple goals in six of their last ten matches.
The head-to-head history favors León, which secured a 1-0 away win over Necaxa in their most recent encounter on Aug. 15, 2025.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw for Saturday’s contest. A point would offer each team a respite from recent struggles, though both will view this as a critical opportunity for three points to alter their trajectories.
For Necaxa, the match begins a congested stretch of three games in eight days, with trips to Pachuca and Pumas UNAM looming next week. León’s schedule is slightly more forgiving, with its next match not until a visit to Mazatlán on March 6.
Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. local time (6 p.m. ET).
