HEVERLEE, Belgium (Interstat) — Substitute Emin Bayram scored in the fourth minute to give Westerlo a 1-0 victory over Sporting Oud-Heverlee in a Belgian First Division A match Saturday at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion.

The early strike, assisted by midfielder Birger Verstraete, proved decisive as Westerlo’s defense held firm. The visitors defied a pregame projection that favored them to win by a wider margin, instead securing a narrow road result.

The match featured six yellow cards, with Westerlo’s Andreas Jungdal receiving the first in the 40th minute. The result gives Westerlo a winning start to its league campaign, while the hosts begin with a loss.
