Sporting Oud-Heverlee vs Westerlo

Preview: Westerlo Visits Sporting Oud-Heverlee in Belgian First Division A Clash

LEUVEN, Belgium (Interstat) — A clash of teams on divergent recent paths will unfold Saturday when Sporting Oud-Heverlee hosts Westerlo in a Belgian First Division A match at Den Dreef.

The visitors from Westerlo arrive with momentum from a 2-1 home victory over Sporting Charleroi on Feb. 22, their second consecutive win. Their form, however, has been inconsistent in 2026, with that winning streak preceded by a 4-0 home loss to Sint-Truiden and a 2-0 defeat at Gent in late December. A highlight of their season remains a stunning 4-0 rout of Anderlecht on Dec. 7.

Sporting Oud-Heverlee is reeling from a heavy 5-1 defeat at Anderlecht on Feb. 28. That result snapped a brief positive run that included a 3-2 win over Dender and a 3-1 victory at Gent in early February. Their struggle for goals is evident, having been shut out in four of their last ten matches.

The statistical outlook favors Westerlo. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 victory for the visiting side.

This match is the only fixture for both clubs in March, as the league now enters an international break. Westerlo will next travel to Standard Liege on March 22. Sporting Oud-Heverlee will host Kampong Speu Province the same day.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) on March 7.
