MANAMA, Bahrain (Interstat) — Budaiya defeated Al Ahli 3-2 on Thursday in a Bahrain Premier League match at Madinat ’Isa Stadium, overcoming a late deficit with two goals in three minutes.

Abdulla Al Hashash opened the scoring for the visitors in the fifth minute before Al Ahli’s Fabrice Onana equalized in the 18th. Abdoolraheem Sadiku put Budaiya ahead again in the 64th, only for Adriano to level for Al Ahli ten minutes later. Budaiya’s Daniel Asante netted the decisive goal just three minutes later in the 77th.

The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Al Ahli. Budaiya improved its league record to 3-5-3, while Al Ahli fell to 3-6.
