BRIDGEND, Wales (Interstat) — Barry Town Utd delivered a major upset Saturday, defeating The New Saints 2-0 in a Welsh League Cup match at DragonBet Stadium. Ieuan Owen scored both goals for the visitors, finding the net in the 43rd minute and again in stoppage time. The victory extends Barry Town Utd’s perfect record in the competition to seven wins. The New Saints, the home side, suffered their first loss in the League Cup this season. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored The New Saints to win.
