Preview: The New Saints Host Barry Town Utd in Welsh League Cup Clash

CARDIFF, Wales (Interstat) — The New Saints, the dominant force in Welsh domestic football, will host Barry Town United in a Welsh League Cup match on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026.

The fixture presents a contrast in recent competitive activity. The New Saints enter with strong form, having secured a 2-0 victory at Colwyn Bay FC in league play on Feb. 13. Their season has been marked by high-scoring performances, including a 6-0 rout of Penybont on Feb. 7.

Barry Town United, meanwhile, has not played a competitive match since a 3-0 victory over Cambrian United FC on Dec. 6, 2025. Their pre-winter form was stout, however, featuring a series of narrow victories and clean sheets on the road.

A player to watch for the hosts is Jamie Cumming. The forward was part of the lineup in the recent win at Colwyn Bay.

The most recent meeting between these sides was a Cymru Premier League encounter on Jan. 24, 2026, which The New Saints won 1-0 at home.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is a 2-0 victory for The New Saints.

The match kicks off at 14:30 GMT at Park Hall in Oswestry, England, the traditional home ground of The New Saints.
