Macara vs Delfin

GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador (Interstat) — A lopsided rivalry will be renewed Sunday when Macará hosts Delfín in a Liga Pro fixture at the Estadio Bellavista in Ambato.

Macará (8-2-5) enters the match with momentum, coming off a 2-0 road victory over C.D. Cuenca on Nov. 7. The hosts have been strong at home this season and will look to continue their recent dominance in this series.

The teams have met twice already this season. On Oct. 18, Macará delivered a stunning 4-0 away win against Delfín. The previous encounter on Aug. 10 ended in a 0-0 draw.

Delfín (2-5-8) is reeling from a historic 8-0 road defeat to Aucas on Nov. 10. The loss extended a difficult stretch for the visitors, who have managed just two wins in their last 11 league matches. Defensive frailties have been a major concern, with the team conceding 24 goals during that span.

Key players to watch include Macará’s midfield duo of Romey Morocho and Ivan Piedra, who were instrumental in the win over Cuenca. For Delfín, defender Jorge Almagro and forward Ederson Quiñónez each contributed a goal and an assist in the heavy loss to Aucas, highlighting their potential in an otherwise struggling side.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 23.
