Bragantino dominates in 4‑0 rout, defying projections against Vitoria.
BRAGANÇA PAULISTA, Brazil (Interstat) — Red Bull Bragantino opened its Serie A season with a commanding 4-0 victory over EC Vitoria on Wednesday, defying pre-match statistical projections.
Eduardo Sasha struck twice in the opening eight minutes, scoring in the sixth and eighth minutes at Estádio Cicero de Souza Marques to set an early dominant tone. Lucas Barbosa added a third in the 51st minute before midfielder Jhonatan Jowjow capped the scoring in the 65th.
The result starkly contrasted with pre-game analytics. Interstat’s simulator had projected a 1-1 draw, and its ELO system gave Vitoria a 64.5% probability to win.
Bragantino begins the Brazilian top-flight campaign at 1-0-0, while Vitoria starts 0-1-0.
