SAO PAULO (Interstat) — Two sides locked in a tight mid-table battle will meet Sunday when RB Bragantino hosts Atletico Mineiro in Brazilian Carioca Serie A play.

The matchup at Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium pits two evenly matched clubs. Bragantino holds a slight edge in the Carioca Serie A standings with 11-11-6 record (39 points), just one win ahead of Atletico Mineiro (10-9-10, 39 points). Across all competitions, Atletico Mineiro has found more success with a 33-23-26 record, while Bragantino sits at 24-34-20.

Recent form favors the visitors. Atletico Mineiro is unbeaten in its last five matches across all competitions (3-0-2), including a wild 3-3 draw with Fortaleza on Wednesday. Bragantino snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Sao Paulo on Nov. 8.

The recent head-to-head history, however, is decisively in Atletico Mineiro’s favor. The teams met twice on Aug. 3, 2025, with Atletico Mineiro winning 2-1 on the road and 2-1 at home.
