RIO DE JANEIRO (Interstat) — José Kadir scored twice, including a stoppage-time winner, to lift Botafogo to a 3-2 victory over Sport Recife in a Carioca Série A match Tuesday at Estádio Nilton Santos. The game defied a projected 1-1 draw from Interstat’s simulator. Botafogo’s win was expected, however, as their pregame probability to win was 91.20 percent. After an early exchange of goals, Kadir broke a 2-2 tie in the 95th minute to secure the win for the home side. The match was a physical affair, with seven yellow cards issued by the officials.
