Saint Pauli vs Heidenheim

Preview: Heidenheim Visits Saint Pauli in Bundesliga Clash

HAMBURG (Interstat) — A mid-table Bundesliga matchup with contrasting recent fortunes is set for Saturday as FC St. Pauli hosts 1. FC Heidenheim at the Millerntor-Stadion.

The visitors from Heidenheim arrive with momentum, riding a two-game winning streak in league play. They defeated Union Berlin 2-1 on the road on Nov. 29 before edging Freiburg II 2-1 at home last Saturday. Their form, however, has been inconsistent, with a heavy 6-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen and a 3-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach II punctuating their season.

St. Pauli, meanwhile, seeks its first victory since late September. The Kiezkicker are mired in a nine-game winless run across all competitions, dating to a 2-1 win over Augsburg. They played to a 1-1 draw with 1. FC Köln last weekend and were held scoreless by Holstein Kiel in a 0-0 draw on Nov. 30. Their schedule has been daunting, with recent losses to Bayern Munich, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The statistical projection service Interstat simulates a tight, low-scoring affair, predicting a 1-1 draw.

Heidenheim will look to capitalize on St. Pauli’s offensive struggles. St. Pauli has been shut out in four of its last ten matches. Heidenheim’s attack has shown flashes, scoring twice in three of its last five Bundesliga outings.

This contest represents a critical opportunity for both sides to bank points before the winter break. St. Pauli aims to leverage its home-pitch advantage to snap its prolonged slump, while Heidenheim eyes a third consecutive league win to solidify its standing.

Following this match, Heidenheim faces a stern test against Bayern Munich on Dec. 21. St. Pauli will travel to face Mainz 05 II on the same date.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. local time (1430 GMT) on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.
