Preview: State Cup Women’s Match Set for Friday

HERZLIYA, Israel (Interstat) — A State Cup Women’s round of 16 clash features a local derby as MK Maccabi Herzliya hosts Kfar Saba 1928 on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025.

The visiting side enters with momentum from a strong domestic campaign. Kfar Saba 1928 advanced to this stage with a convincing 2-0 home victory over Maccabi Yavne FC on Tuesday, Sept. 30. That result followed an emphatic 4-1 away win against MK Hapoel Herzliya on Thursday, Aug. 28, showcasing their attacking potency.

MK Maccabi Herzliya last played on Tuesday, Oct. 28, securing a 2-0 home win against MH Hapoel Ironi Acre. The extended break since their last competitive match presents an unknown, potentially leading to either rust or rested legs.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the tightly contested match is projected to finish with a narrow 1-0 victory for the visitors, Kfar Saba 1928.

The fixture is a rematch of sorts from preseason, though in the cup’s knockout format, the stakes are significantly higher. Kfar Saba’s earlier 4-1 win over Herzliya’s local rivals will provide a psychological edge, but cup football often defies recent form.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time at Herzliya Municipal Stadium. The winner will advance to the quarterfinal round of Israel’s premier women’s domestic cup competition.
