CÓRDOBA, Argentina (Interstat) — Diego Ortegoza scored in the 20th minute to lift CA Talleres to a 1-0 victory over Platense in a Primera Nacional match Saturday at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes.

The midfielder’s early goal, assisted by defender Augusto Schott, proved decisive. The match was a physical affair, with six players receiving yellow cards. The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Talleres a 70.3% chance to win but had simulated a 3-1 scoreline.

With the win, Talleres begins its season with a victory, while Platense starts with a loss. Both clubs’ records across all competitions mirror their opening-day result in the Argentine second division.
