GUATEMALA CITY (Interstat) — Guastatoya hosts Marquense in a Liga Nacional fixture on Sunday, with the visitors looking to replicate their recent victory in the head-to-head series.

The teams last met on Sept. 17, when Marquense earned a 2-0 home win. Marquense (4-5-5) enters the match following a 2-1 home loss to Mixco on Nov. 15, extending a recent run of inconsistent form. In their last five matches, they have recorded one win, two draws and two losses.

Guastatoya (4-4-6) looks to rebound from a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Antigua GFC on Nov. 9. Prior to that loss, they had shown signs of improvement, securing two wins in their previous three outings. Their home form has been a mixed bag, with two wins, a draw and two losses in their last five matches at their stadium.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw.

Following this contest, Guastatoya’s next match is a road fixture against Municipal on Wednesday. Marquense’s next scheduled game is a home match against Municipal next Sunday.
