BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Interstat) — Substitute Gabriel Díaz scored in the 72nd minute, but Ronaldo Martínez answered with a stoppage-time equalizer for Sarmiento in a 1-1 draw with Platense on Monday in the Argentine Primera Nacional. The match at Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López saw both teams earn a point to open their season records at 0-0-1. Díaz broke the deadlock for the hosts, while Martínez secured the late draw for the visitors. The result defied a pregame projection that heavily favored Platense to win.
