BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Interstat) — Platense and Sarmiento, two clubs seeking consistency, will meet Monday in a Primera Nacional fixture.

The match at Platense’s home ground pits two sides in the lower half of the Argentina’s second-tier table. Platense holds a slight edge in the league, sitting 12th with a record of 5-6-6. Sarmiento is just behind in 15th place at 4-7-2.

Both teams are struggling for form. Platense is winless in its last three matches, including a 3-0 loss to Independiente on Oct. 24. Sarmiento has lost three of its last four, most recently falling 1-0 to Rosario Central on Oct. 24.

Sarmiento’s lone bright spot in that defeat was the late introduction of veteran Ángel di María, who scored a goal after subbing in. His presence could provide a spark for a team that has been shut out in three of its last four outings.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Sarmiento is projected to earn a 2-1 victory.

Following this match, Platense will travel to face CA Talleres on Nov. 8, while Sarmiento will host Instituto AC Cordoba on Nov. 9.
