Daej Hana Citizen vs Pohang Steelers

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — A pivotal K League 1 clash is set for Sunday as Daejeon Hana Citizen hosts the Pohang Steelers, with the home side looking to solidify its strong league standing and continue its recent dominance in the head-to-head series.

The match at Daejeon World Cup Stadium pits two teams in contrasting form. Daejeon Hana Citizen enters the contest with a 16-8-10 record, positioning them near the top of the table. They are riding a wave of momentum, coming off a 3-1 victory over Jeju United on Oct. 18 and a decisive 3-1 win over these same Steelers on Oct. 5.

The Pohang Steelers, with a 15-14-7 league record, are also arriving off a win, having defeated FC Seoul 2-1 last Saturday. However, their form has been inconsistent, and they will be seeking revenge after the loss to Daejeon earlier this month. The season series has been a tale of home-field advantage, with the home team winning all three meetings in 2025. Daejeon won 3-0 on Feb. 14 and 3-1 on Oct. 5, while Pohang secured a 3-1 victory in Daejeon on May 27.

Despite Daejeon’s superior league position and recent success in the fixture, the Interstat game simulator projects a tightly contested draw, predicting a 1-1 final score. The outcome could hinge on whether Pohang can break the pattern of home-team wins and carry the confidence from their victory over Seoul into a difficult road environment.

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.
