Van vs Yerevan
YEREVAN, Armenia (Interstat) — Van and Yerevan will meet in a crucial Armenian Premier League fixture on Sunday, looking to build on recent victories after a stretch of inconsistent form.
The match at Van’s home venue is a rematch of a scoreless draw from Aug. 29. Since that stalemate, both clubs have navigated challenging schedules.
Van (6-7-1) enters with momentum from a 2-1 home win over Gandzasar on Nov. 9, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Prior to that skid, Van had shown promise with a 3-2 victory at Shirak and a 2-1 win over powerhouse Pyunik.
Yerevan (3-6-5) also broke a negative run with its last result, a 0-0 draw against Alashkert on Nov. 8. That point halted a three-game losing streak where Yerevan was outscored 6-1. Its attack will look to rediscover the form shown in a 4-0 rout of Ararat in October.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the contest is projected to end in a 2-2 draw, suggesting a tightly contested match.
Following Sunday’s game, Yerevan will travel to face Gandzasar on Nov. 28. Van’s next match is at home against Noah on Dec. 2.
