Dundee Topples Saint Mirren in Scottish Premiership Opener
DUNDEE, Scotland (Interstat) — Dundee opened its Scottish Premiership campaign with a 3-1 victory over Saint Mirren on Saturday at Dens Park. The home side scored twice in a chaotic two-minute span late in the first half to seize control. Substitute Mikael Mandron put Dundee ahead in the 27th minute and provided an assist on Drey Wright’s goal two minutes later. Saint Mirren’s Alexandros Gogić, also a substitute, temporarily leveled the match just after Mandron’s opener. Joe Westley added a late insurance goal for Dundee in the 87th minute. The result defied a pregame projection that had favored a draw.
