Olympiakós SFP vs OFI
PIRAEUS, Greece (Interstat) — Ayoub El Kaabi scored two first-half goals to power Olympiakos SFP to a commanding 3-0 victory over OFI in a Super League 1 match Saturday at Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki.
The home side’s performance exceeded pregame projections, as Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 2-0 win for Olympiakos. According to the same service’s ELO system, Olympiakos entered the match with a 69.70 percent probability to win.
Olympiakos seized control of the match early and never relented, handing OFI a defeat to open the Greek league campaign for both clubs. With the result, Olympiakos begins its season with one win and no losses in Super League 1 play, while OFI starts with no wins and one loss. The records also stand as each team’s mark across all competitions this season.
The breakthrough came from the league’s reigning Golden Boot winner, El Kaabi. The Moroccan forward opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, finishing a move to give the hosts a deserved lead. He doubled his tally just seven minutes later, striking again in the 40th minute to send Olympiakos into halftime with a firm 2-0 advantage.
The second half continued in similar fashion. Olympiakos put the result beyond any doubt in the 63rd minute when midfielder Gabriel Strefezza found the net for the team’s third goal. The assists on the afternoon came from a pair of substitutes, with Thiago Nuss and Giannis Theodosoulakis each credited with one.
The match was not without its disciplinary moments. OFI’s Nuss received a yellow card in the 27th minute, prior to his assist. Olympiakos substitute Theodosoulakis was also booked in the 57th minute.
The comprehensive victory provides a strong start for Olympiakos under the guidance of manager Carlos Carvalhal, as the Piraeus-based club aims to reclaim the domestic title. For OFI, the trip to the capital ended in a defeat that highlighted the challenge ahead as the team from Heraklion looks to improve upon its mid-table finish from the previous season.
The match was played under clear skies in Piraeus, with a strong crowd in attendance at the iconic seaside venue. Olympiakos will look to build on this momentum in its next league fixture, while OFI seeks its first points of the campaign when it returns to home action.
