Olympiakós SFP vs OFI
Preview: Olympiakos SFP Hosts OFI in Greek Super League Clash
PIRAEUS, Greece (Interstat) — First-place Olympiakos SFP will look to extend its dominant run in the Greek Super League when it hosts struggling OFI at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium on Saturday.
The matchup pits the league’s hottest side against a team mired in a scoring slump. Olympiakos (10-1-0) enters with a full head of steam, having won nine consecutive league matches. Its attack is in ruthless form, netting 13 goals in its last three outings, including a 5-2 road victory over APO Ellas Syros on Wednesday.
In contrast, OFI (4-0-7) has lost three straight, failing to score in its last two defeats. It fell 2-0 at AEK Athens on Wednesday and was shut out at home by Volos NFC last weekend. Overall, OFI has been outscored 11-3 during its current three-game skid.
The statistical models heavily favor the hosts. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for Olympiakos, while its ELO rating system gives the Piraeus club a 69.7% probability of winning.
History also sides with Olympiakos, which has won four of the last five meetings between the clubs. The lone blemish was a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season.
Olympiakos manager José Luis Mendilibar is expected to field a strong side, with the team’s attacking depth on full display. For OFI, manager Georgios Simos must find a way to jump-start an offense that has managed just one goal in its last four league games.
The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. local kickoff.
