Midtjylland vs Silkeborg

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (Interstat) — An undefeated cup run for Silkeborg faces its toughest test yet on Thursday when it visits a dominant FC Midtjylland in a DBU Pokalen quarterfinal clash.

The matchup at MCH Arena pits two of the tournament’s hottest teams against each other. Silkeborg enters with a perfect 3-0-0 record in the Danish Cup, while Midtjylland is 2-0-0.

Midtjylland, however, has been nearly flawless across all competitions this season, boasting a 9-1-1 overall record. Its last match was a 2-0 league win over Viborg on Sept. 20. The Wolves’ only loss this season came against FC Nordsjaelland on Sept. 14.

Silkeborg, with a 9-7-4 overall record, is coming off a 2-1 victory over Vejle BK on Sunday. Its form has been inconsistent, mixing impressive wins, like a 3-1 victory over FC København, with surprising losses.

History also favors the home side. In their last meeting on Aug. 24, Midtjylland handed Silkeborg a 4-2 defeat.

According to the Interstat game simulator, Midtjylland is projected to advance with a 2-0 victory.

The winner will move one step closer to the Danish Cup trophy. Silkeborg’s next match is Nov. 2 against Brøndby in the Superliga.
