Sport Lisboa e Benfica vs FC Twente

LISBON (Interstat) — Sport Lisboa e Benfica looks for its first points in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage on Wednesday when it hosts a surging FC Twente at the Estádio da Luz.

The matchup pits a struggling Benfica side against a Dutch club riding high in European competition. Benfica enters the contest with an 0-2 record in the Champions League and an 0-2 mark across all competitions this season, having suffered consecutive 2-0 and 2-1 losses to Arsenal and Juventus, respectively.

FC Twente, conversely, sits near the top of its group with a 3-1-1 Champions League record and an identical overall mark. The Dutch side is coming off a 2-1 loss to Leuven on Oct. 15 but is buoyed by a 1-1 draw with powerhouse Chelsea earlier in October and dominant wins over GKS GieKSa Katowice, UMF Breiðablik and ŽFK Crvena zvezda.

Statistical projections for the game are conflicted. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a 3-0 victory for the visiting FC Twente. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives Benfica a 54 percent probability of winning the match.

Following this contest, Benfica’s difficult Champions League schedule continues with a trip to Paris FC on Nov. 19. FC Twente’s next European fixture is a crucial home match against Atlético Madrid Femenino on Nov. 20.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025.
