PIRAEUS, Greece (Interstat) — Greece defeated Scotland 3-2 in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday after a frantic second half at Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki. The hosts built a 3-0 lead with goals from Anastasios Bakasetas, Konstantinos Karetsas and Christos Tzolis. Scotland mounted a comeback with two quick goals from substitutes Ben Gannon-Doak and Ryan Christie, but the rally was hampered after Greece’s Bakasetas received a red card in the 84th minute. The victory improved Greece’s record in the competition to 2-3-1, while Scotland fell to 3-1-1.
