BASEL, Switzerland (Interstat) — A crucial Europa League Group Stage match sees Swiss side FC Basel host Romanian club FCSB on Thursday, with the visitors holding a clear edge in the continental competition.

FCSB arrives at St. Jakob-Park in strong form within the tournament, boasting a record of 5-2-2. The Romanian power is riding high after a 3-1 domestic victory over Gloria Bistriţa last Wednesday. Their European campaign has been marked by offensive outbursts, including a 3-0 win over Aberdeen and a 3-1 victory against Saburtalo.

In contrast, Basel has struggled for consistency, particularly in Europe, with a 1-2-1 record in the Europa League. The Swiss club is coming off a 2-0 win over FC Zurich domestically but fell 2-0 to Olympique Lyonnais in its most recent European fixture. Across all competitions, Basel holds a 6-7-3 record.

The statistical service Interstat projects a 1-1 draw for the match. The result will be pivotal for both sides as they navigate a challenging group stage. FCSB will next travel to face FK Crvena zvezda on Nov. 27, while Basel is set for an away match against KRC Gent on the same date.
