HAARLEM, Netherlands (Interstat) — De Treffers defeated Koninklijke UD Deventer 1-0 on Saturday in a Tweede Divisie match at Sportpark Koninklijke HFC - Veld 3. Tim Waterink scored the lone goal in the 67th minute. Defender Marijn Ploem provided the assist. Substitute Sebastiaan van Bakel also recorded a secondary assist.

Yellow cards were issued to Steven van der Heijden in the 71st minute, Ploem in the 90th minute and van Bakel in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time.

De Treffers improved to 17-7-7 in the Tweede Divisie and 18-7-8 across all competitions. Koninklijke UD Deventer fell to 11-17-5 in league play and 11-17-5 overall.

The victory extended De Treffers’ strong run. The team had won four of its previous five matches, including a 4-1 victory over VV Katwijk on April 18 and a 6-2 thrashing of ACV on April 11. The single loss in that stretch came against HHC Hardenberg on Jan. 31. De Treffers also posted a 1-0 win at RKAV Volendam on April 4 and a 3-0 win at Barendrecht on March 21. A 2-2 draw at VV Rijnsburgse Boys on March 28 was the only blemish in that five-match span before Saturday.

Koninklijke UD Deventer continued its difficult season, losing for the fifth time in six matches. The only win during that span came against Amsterdamsche W on March 21, a 2-1 result. Koninklijke UD Deventer lost its previous two matches, falling 2-0 at VV Rijnsburgse Boys on April 18 and 2-1 at home to Barendrecht on April 11. The team also dropped a 2-1 decision at Almere City on March 28.

The head-to-head series now favors De Treffers. The two sides had met once earlier this season, on Nov. 22, 2025, with De Treffers winning by the same 1-0 score at home. That result gave De Treffers a 2-0 aggregate advantage in the season series.

De Treffers will next host Spakenburg on May 9 before traveling to Jong Sparta on May 16 and returning home to face HSV Hoek on May 23. Koninklijke UD Deventer will visit VV Katwijk on May 9, travel to ACV on May 16 and host Spakenburg on May 23.

Interstat’s game simulator projected a 2-1 final score for De Treffers. Interstat’s ELO system gave De Treffers a 77.60 percent probability to win.
