Preview: De Treffers Host VV Katwijk in Key Tweede Divisie Clash

NETHERLANDS (Interstat) — A surging De Treffers side will look to solidify its standing and complete a season sweep when it hosts a streaky VV Katwijk in a Tweede Divisie match on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The home side enters with significant momentum, having won four of its last five league matches. De Treffers (14-6-5) is coming off a dominant 6-2 victory over ACV on April 11, showcasing a potent attack. Their form has been formidable at home, losing just once in their last seven matches across all competitions.

VV Katwijk (13-7-5) presents a contrasting recent narrative, with results fluctuating wildly. They earned a dramatic 3-2 win over VV Rijnsburgse Boys last Saturday but were shut out 2-0 by HSV Hoek the week prior. Their campaign has been defined by high-scoring affairs, with their last five matches averaging over four total goals per game.

The head-to-head history favors De Treffers, who secured a convincing 4-2 away victory over Katwijk on Nov. 15, 2025. That result will weigh on the visitors, who must shore up a defense that has conceded multiple goals in three of their last five outings to challenge a confident De Treffers frontline.

Statistical analysis firm Interstat projects a narrow 2-1 victory for De Treffers, aligning with the team’s current defensive solidity and Katwijk’s occasional vulnerabilities at the back.

For De Treffers, a win would pressure the league’s top sides and build confidence ahead of a difficult closing schedule that features matches against contenders Koninklijke UD Deventer and Spakenburg in May. For VV Katwijk, finding consistency is paramount as they aim to stay in the promotion conversation. Their path forward also includes pivotal matches against those same top opponents, making points on the road crucial.

Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon local time at De Treffers’ home ground. The match will not be televised internationally but will be available via the league’s domestic streaming partner.
