Almere City vs De Treffers

ALMERE, Netherlands (Interstat) — Substitute Willem den Dekker scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to complete a hat trick and lift De Treffers to a 3-2 victory over Almere City in a Tweede Divisie match on Saturday.

The match, played at Sportpark Fanny Blankers Koen Veld 4, saw De Treffers overcome an early deficit and a late equalizer to secure all three points in their season opener.

De Treffers found themselves behind almost immediately. Almere City forward Immanuel Ghogli opened the scoring in just the third minute, giving the home side an early advantage. The visitors responded in the 17th minute when den Dekker, introduced as a substitute early in the contest, netted his first goal of the afternoon to level the score at 1-1.

The match remained deadlocked until eight minutes after halftime, when Almere City’s Sebastiaan Hagedoorn found the net in the 53rd minute to restore the host’s lead at 2-1. De Treffers showed resilience, however, and den Dekker struck again in the 67th minute, scoring his second to pull the teams even at 2-2.

As the match entered second-half stoppage time, den Dekker delivered the decisive blow. In the second added minute, he completed his hat trick with the game-winning goal, sealing a 3-2 comeback victory for the visiting side.

The result defied the pre-match projections from Interstat, whose game simulator had predicted a 2-1 win for De Treffers. Their ELO rating system had given De Treffers a 54.90 percent probability of victory.

With the win, De Treffers begins their Tweede Divisie campaign with one win and no losses. Almere City starts the season with one loss and no wins. The records for both clubs across all competitions are identical to their league marks.
