BARENDRECHT, Netherlands (Interstat) — Barendrecht began its Tweede Divisie campaign with a 2-0 victory over Amsterdamsche W on Saturday at Sportpark De Bongerd.

After a scoreless first half, forward Brent Vugts broke the deadlock in the 65th minute. Midfielder Taner Bayram added a second goal late to secure the win, with substitutes Sven Ederveen and Dani Brussee each recording an assist. Both substitutes received yellow cards in second-half stoppage time.

The home side outperformed statistical projections, which heavily favored Barendrecht but predicted a closer scoreline. The result gives Barendrecht a winning start across all competitions this season, while Amsterdamsche W searches for its first points.
