GVVV vs Koninklijke UD Deventer

VEENENDAAL, Netherlands (Interstat) — A dramatic stoppage-time winner from defender Tariq Dilrosun lifted GVVV to a 2-1 victory over Koninklijke UD Deventer in a Tweede Divisie match on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Sportpark Panhuis.

The result reversed the outcome of the teams’ previous meeting this season and unfolded in a manner that closely followed the pregame projection from Interstat, which gave GVVV an 87.30 percent probability to win and forecast a 2-1 final score.

The visitors from Deventer struck first, capitalizing on a moment just before halftime. In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, midfielder Arwin van Soest found the net to give Koninklijke UD Deventer a 1-0 lead at the break.

GVVV responded quickly after the restart. Just four minutes into the second half, substitute Marijn Ploem entered the match and made an immediate impact, scoring the equalizing goal in the 49th minute to level the match at 1-1.

The game appeared destined for a draw as the clock ticked into the final minute of regulation. However, GVVV mounted one last attack. Goalkeeper Ruben van Kouwen, venturing forward for a late set piece, provided a crucial assist, setting up defender Tariq Dilrosun for the decisive goal in the 90th minute. Van Kouwen’s involvement in the attack came at a cost, as he received a yellow card in the third minute of stoppage time following the celebratory sequence.

The victory improves GVVV’s record in the Tweede Divisie to eight wins, eight losses and six draws, moving the club into the middle of the table. The loss leaves Koninklijke UD Deventer with a record of seven wins, 11 losses and three draws, continuing a challenging season.

The match marked a significant shift from the teams’ earlier encounter on Sept. 13, 2025, when Koninklijke UD Deventer secured a 2-0 home victory. GVVV has now won two of its last three league matches, showing improved form after a difficult stretch in January that included heavy losses to VV Rijnsburgse Boys and Almere City.

Koninklijke UD Deventer, which had won two of its previous three league games, including a 1-0 victory over Excelsior Maassluis last week, saw that modest momentum halted by the late defeat.

GVVV will look to build on this result when it hosts Barendrecht on Saturday, Feb. 14. Koninklijke UD Deventer, seeking to rebound, will travel to face Jong Sparta on the same date in the next round of Tweede Divisie fixtures.
